Flyboard Privacy Policy (iOS)

Flyboard is a custom iOS keyboard that prioritizes the use of voice for transcribing and translating text with the help of AI models. This policy explains what data we process, for what purposes, for how long, with whom it is shared, and what rights you have.

1) Scope of Service

• Flyboard works as an iOS custom keyboard: by system design, a keyboard can process what you type.
• We do not log or permanently store the text you enter.
• We only process the audio and/or text that you explicitly send to features like "Transcribe" or "Translate" (and we do so ephemerally to return the result to you).
• When the system indicates that a field is a password or other sensitive field, Flyboard skips sending it to AI features and does not retain that content for personalization.

2) Data We Process

a) Provided by You

• Microphone audio when you activate voice dictation.
• Text you choose to transcribe, translate, or send to AI features.
• Preferences and queries: languages, keyboard settings, AI options.

b) Automatically Generated

• Technical metadata: app/OS version, device model, time zone, system language.
• Usage data: keyboard session state, mode preferences (transcription/translation), identifier of the host application where the keyboard is used (for functionality purposes only).
• Diagnostic data: error logs, performance and events necessary for support/improvement.
• Non-direct identifiers (e.g., installation ID) for stability and aggregated metrics.

We do not process contacts, SMS, location, or other sensitive data unless we add a feature in the future that requires it (in which case we will update this policy and the privacy disclosure in App Store Connect).

3) Purposes of Processing

• Service delivery: convert voice to text, translate, and display basic local suggestions.
• Operation and security: prevent abuse, detect failures, maintain stability.
• Product improvement and analytics: we collect usage, performance, diagnostic, and application event data linked to your account or device identifier. This allows us to identify and fix specific errors, improve performance, and understand how the application is used. This data may include: interactions with app features, performance metrics, crash information, and technical diagnostics. It does not include the content you type or processed audio/text, unless you give explicit consent for improvement purposes.
• Support: respond to inquiries and resolve issues.
• For the optional "Improve Flyboard" feature, processing is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from Settings ▸ Privacy.

4) Legal Basis (if GDPR/similar laws apply)

• Contract/service performance: dictation, translation, keyboard operation.
• Legitimate interest: security, fraud prevention, minimal technical metrics.
• Consent: optional features (e.g., sending samples to improve models). You can always withdraw your consent.

5) Processing of Audio and Text (Content)

• Audio is captured only when you activate dictation.
• Audio/text sent for transcription/translation may be processed on our servers or by AI providers to generate the result.
• We do not sell your data or build advertising profiles from your content.
• By default, content is processed ephemerally and is not permanently stored, unless you explicitly authorize it (opt-in) for improvement purposes.

6) Providers and International Transfers

For infrastructure and AI capabilities, we may use providers such as: Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS, OpenAI, Anthropic, or other equivalent services.

• Providers act as processors under contract, with access limited to what is necessary.
• Operations may involve international transfers (e.g., to the U.S. or EU). We apply appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses or other valid mechanisms).
• We instruct AI providers not to use your content to train their models unless you explicitly enable it within Flyboard.
• Main Sub-processors (reference): Cloud infrastructure and AI providers mentioned above. We will update this section if we incorporate relevant changes.

7) Retention

• Content (audio/text) for transcription/translation: ephemeral, only for the time strictly necessary to generate the response. We do not store it permanently unless opt-in.
• Minimal diagnostic/telemetry: the time necessary to detect and fix failures and for aggregated metrics (≈90 days; in security cases up to 12 months).
• Support (correspondence): for the legally required time.

8) Data Sharing

• Providers (processors) under contract and with limited access.
• Authorities when required by law.
• We never sell personal data or offer behavioral advertising in the app.

9) Permissions and Keyboard Practices (iOS)

• Microphone access: voice dictation (NSMicrophoneUsageDescription).
• Allow Full Access: required for network communication with cloud transcription/translation services. Without this permission, the keyboard cannot send audio to our servers.
• App Groups: used for communication between the main app and the keyboard extension (to share preferences, session state, and microphone control).

We do not request permissions for contacts, location, camera, or other unnecessary access. If a future feature requires it, we will request permission and update this policy and the privacy disclosure in App Store Connect.

10) Minors

Flyboard is not intended for minors. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we discover that we have processed data from a minor under 13/16 (depending on jurisdiction) without the appropriate legal basis, we will delete such information. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, please contact us to have it deleted.

11) Security

We encrypt data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and, where temporary storage exists, at rest in cloud providers; we apply the principle of least privilege, RBAC, access logs, and environment segregation.

12) Your Rights

Depending on applicable regulations (e.g., access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction, portability, and consent withdrawal), you can exercise them by writing to soporte@flyboard.app. We will respond within legal deadlines.

• If you reside in the EU/EEA or United Kingdom, you may also file a complaint with your data protection authority.
• If you reside in California (CPRA), we do not sell or share your information for cross-context behavioral advertising (CCBA). If this changes, we will enable an opt-out control in compliance with CPRA.

13) In-App Controls and Preferences

• Enable/disable dictation and translation.
• Manage languages and keyboard preferences.
• Revoke microphone permission from iOS system settings (Settings > Flyboard > Microphone).
• Disable "Allow Full Access" from Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards (this will disable network features).
• Improve Flyboard (opt-in): if offered, you can enable/disable at any time.
• Delete account/data: see next section.

The privacy policy and data controls are always available in Settings ▸ Privacy.

14) Account and Data Deletion

If you create or associate an account in Flyboard, you can request its deletion from the app or by writing to soporte@flyboard.app.

You can also request deletion from https://forms.gle/iSTr6HEFbNjoC2BB8, without needing to log into the app.

• We delete the account and associated data, except for minimal legal retentions (billing/defense of claims).
• We will delete or anonymize associated data, except what is necessary for legal compliance (e.g., billing/accounting) or defense of claims.
• For ephemeral data (processed audio/text), there is usually nothing to delete because it is not permanently stored.

15) Changes to This Policy

We will post any changes on this page and indicate the effective date. If the changes are substantial, we will notify you through reasonable means (e.g., notice in the app).
